The Power of Forgiveness

INT. PALACE LIBRARY - DAY Princess Gracela sits alone at a large oak table, surrounded by books and documents. Her expression is a mix of determination and weariness. Suddenly, the doors swing open, revealing LORD MALCOLM, the once treacherous uncle, now filled with remorse and humility. PRINCESS GRACELA, raising an eyebrow. “Uncle Malcolm, what brings you here?” LORD MALCOLM is kneeling before her, “Princess Gracela, I come before you today to ask for forgiveness for the grave mistakes I have made. I betrayed you, your father, and our kingdom. I am filled with remorse, and I vow to support you wholeheartedly in your reign.” Princess Gracela studies him carefully, contemplating his words. PRINCESS GRACELA skeptically said, “Uncle, your betrayal caused great suffering and loss. Why should I trust you now?” But, LORD MALCOLM tearfully said, “I understand your doubt, Princess, but I have come to realize the error of my ways. I was blinded by ambition and power. The consequences of my actions have haunted me, and I want nothing more than to make amends. I pledge my unwavering loyalty to you and our kingdom.” Princess Gracela remains silent, weighing his sincerity. Then, she resolute, “Uncle Malcolm, redemption is a difficult path. Your words alone are not enough. You must prove your loyalty to me and our people. Only then can forgiveness be considered.” LORD MALCOLM is sad, he has no choice but nodding, “Princess, I understand. I am ready to do whatever it takes to earn your forgiveness. Allow me the opportunity to right my wrongs and prove my loyalty to you and our kingdom.” While, PRINCESS GRACELA, softened, “Very well, Uncle Malcolm. I will grant you a chance at redemption, but know that trust will take time to rebuild. Your actions will speak louder than words.” LORD MALCOLM (grateful) “Thank you, Princess Gracela. I will not let you down.” After a while, they rise from their positions, eyeing each other with a newfound understanding. They go outside then passing through the palace corridor. Princess Gracela and Lord Malcolm walk side by side, their steps echoing through the quiet corridor. They stop, facing each other. PRINCESS GRACELA firmly said after a moment, “Uncle Malcolm, remember, I am giving you a second chance, but any betrayal will not be tolerated. Our kingdom deserves nothing less than true loyalty.” LORD MALCOLM is silent a few moments, but he is determined, “Princess, I am committed to proving my loyalty to you and our kingdom. I will work tirelessly to make amends for my past actions.” They share a moment of silent understanding, ready to face the challenges ahead together. A bright day after the days in vain. As said, there is a sunshine after the rain. That’s what happened to the Bringholm kingdom. Early in the morning, Princess GRACELA and her fiancé, CALEB, stroll hand in hand through a picturesque garden. The sun shines brightly, casting a warm glow on the colorful flowers and towering trees. GRACELA look at the sky, she sighs, “Caleb, it's hard to believe how far we've come. From those days of uncertainty and betrayal, to now, where we can finally breathe freely.” CALEB squeezes her hand, “Yes, my love. The obstacles we faced were overwhelming, but together, we overcame them and forged a path to reclaim your rightful place as the Queen of Bringholm Kingdom.” GRACELA smile, she feels comfortable on his side. “Remember the days we spent plotting, strategizing, and gathering allies? Our journey wasn't easy, but those challenges made us stronger and united us even more.” CALEB nods, “Absolutely, my dear. And here we are, standing in this incredible garden, reminding ourselves of the beauty we fought for, not just for ourselves, but for the kingdom and its people.” They reach a bench overlooking a picturesque fountain. GRACELA (sits down, gazing at the fountain) This fountain holds significant memories for me. As a child, I used to come here to escape my troubles and let my dreams take flight. CALEB (smiling) I remember you when we first met. When you pour a cup of coffee to me at the coffeeshop in Paradise Island. Since i’ve met you I followed you. Gracela, even before I followed your blogs. I realized then why you are so familiar with me that time, because of your vlogs posted. Your goodvibes, bravery and determination inspired me then, and they still do now. GRACELA (leaning against Caleb) And your unwavering support, Caleb, has carried me through the darkest of times. You were by my side when I confronted my uncles, exposing their treachery and reclaiming my rightful place. CALEB (resting his head on hers) It was an honor to stand beside you, my love. Seeing you rise, standing tall and resolute, brought tears of joy to my eyes. Our joint efforts have undone their deceit and restored peace to our kingdom. They sit in silence for a moment, cherishing the tranquility of the garden. GRACELA (whispering) Caleb, as we prepare for our future and the responsibility of ruling, let us not forget the lessons we have learned. Let us govern our kingdom with compassion and ensure that the mistakes of the past are never repeated. CALEB (nods, placing a hand over Gracela's) I promise you, my love. Together, we will create a kingdom that cherishes its people, one that stands for justice and equality. They share a tender kiss, symbolizing their shared determination and love for one another. In the next day, Aria and Caleb decided to go back to Paradise Island to see their parents left there. Aria’s present parents where not aware about her secrets. She needs to explain them. Kring…!..Kring!..Kring! Caleb’s phone rang. He picked up after few moments. “Hello dad!..” “Hello Caleb! his father answer it .” “How are you?” Caleb asked. “I’m the one to ask you, How are you now and where are you? Caleb’s father stated.” “I’m so worried about you son, your away for almost 2 months.” he added.” “Sorry dad, I was too pre-occupied when I left there. I’m now okay here, please don’t worry. I will go home soon. See u dad.” Caleb shrugged his shoulders, he missed his dad too. He will go home soon and face his problem. For now, they will cherish this moment. He is happy and something inside him filled. He almost forgot his reason why he was here then. They decided to have a walk first at the west part of the palace before going to Paradise Island. “Let us breath some fresh air a little, it’s still early.” Aria said. Aria planned to roam around the palace and see the development of Bringholm after her father was gone. She’s so sad when she noticed that her uncles never did something better for the improvements of the kingdom. It was really far from the appearance when she was there, when her father’s time , King Greg Mathew. They silently observe the place until she spot the most memorable place she had, the garden. The garden where her father and her mother were shot by the betrayer. She suddenly stop. She stare the place and recalled everything. It’s still fresh in her mind. After the very long time incident, she didn’t know what happened next. She forgot to ask about her parents grave. The scene where always in her dream before. Her tears start falling, she’s now trembling. She release Caleb hands and run straight without looking back. Caleb is confused what happened. He run after her until they reached at the seashore. Aria stop running, kneel down the sands and cried. While Caleb run faster, is catching his breath following , he stop too. He holds his knees and continue breathing and panting. He stands straight after a moment and scanned the environment, where are we? He look at the Rocky Mountains in the side view and is taken aback when he remembers something. “Aria, how did you get there at the Paradise Island?”he horribly asked. Aria stop crying and turn around. She look at Caleb when she heard him asking.. “Why Caleb?” “Tell me Aria, how did you get there?!” This place is too far from the Paradise Island.” “I..I, don’t know..what I remember was when my mother call my dad, they hit her. I ran faster and went here to hide. But, someone followed me. He shot me, and i did not know what happened next. When I woke up, I was under my present parents care. They’re the one who told me about the pendant and where they found me. They said that i was tied with a bamboo rafts unconscious,”Aria narrated of what happened to her life before. Caleb is so shocked, “yo..you???..I can’t believe this! what a small world!” he suddenly said. “It..its really you?!..his eyes widened..of all the people in the world i’ve met, and its very long ago, i almost forgot the scene, i don’t know that i’ve found you already..I was worried before Aria, if..if what happened to you and where you since then.” his voice shaking. “Why, Caleb? i am confused, what do you mean? What are you saying? Why?!, who truly are you Caleb? Please tell me the whole story?! she confusedly asked many questions in her mind.” Is he one of the traitors? “Are you one of them Caleb? Caleb is trembling, suddenly raised his gazed to her. “No, Aria, i was not one of your traitors, but, i was the 8 year old boy who tied you in a bamboo rafts and bring you at the deep part of the ocean away from here to escape that armed people. I covered you until your gone. And, i did not expect to meet you again like this,”he continue telling while holding her face. Aria is speechless upon hearing the truth, she don’t know that her Mr. Right is her savior and her knight of the shining armor. Now, she realized how lucky she is. She hugged him tightly and kiss Caleb. “She don’t know what to say, her tears flow and her heart overflows. Now, she understands why she attracted to him even when they first met. He is my destiny. They hugged each other and let their feelings released, their pains and worries may be wipe away. There’s really a magic. Life is so full of magic!
