An Alpha

Paris’s POV “Paris! Paris! Hey Paris can you hear me?” Jack says to me  “Huh oh yeah hey sorry.” I say back to him  “What were you thinking about?” Jack asks me  “Nothing just daydreaming.” I say to him “I know you are lying. You always rub your nose when you do. Tell me please?” he asks  “You must know me well as I don’t know you.” I say back to him.  I didn’t mean to say that, but it accidently came out. I’m not ready to talk to Jack yet. “Paris please. I need to talk to you. I need to talk to you about why things are the way that they are and about us.” he says  “There is no us Jack. I don’t want to be bothered with this anymore. Let's just end it here and finish off this year without any drama.”  I say back to him I turn and see Jack’s eye flicker black and then back to normal. How weird. Maybe it was just the light or something I guess.  “There is still an us. There will always be an us. I just need to explain things. Please listen to me and talk to me. You know me. I would never hurt you and I don’t ever want to. Just hear me out.” he says to me pleading.  “Jack please. I don’t want this anymore and I can’t handle this right now. I am saving up so I can leave, remember? This was my plan and has always been my plan. Don’t you get it? Things are just not meant to be and I am glad it happened now then in the long run.” I say to him    “You don’t mean that Paris!” he says back to me angrily  “I meant it the day I saw her kiss you and you didn't do anything about it. So if you can excuse me, I have work to get ready for.” I say back to him leaving.  Another few weeks pass and school is going to be over soon. I’ve completely ignored Jack to the point that I just pretend he is not there. Even when he walks next to me or comes to talk to me, he’s just not there. He went to sit with the Jocks where he should be in the first place anyways during lunches. I see that that girl is with him all the time and with the jocks too.  When Jack comes with me she leaves and never says anything, but you can feel the death glares coming from her.  What happened to my simple life? Oh wait I never had one. You know to be honest, Bethany has not been bothering me at all. It’s weird. She always finds a way to make my life hell but I feel like she’s been dodging me. Even my aunt has been weird lately. I mean she is still mean when I go over to their house, but it’s just weird. She never says smart things to me like always and just avoids and distances herself from me too.  Uncle has been going on longer trips. When he is not there I don’t go over during the weekends and they don’t mind as well. Work  has been busy and I’ve been working later than usual and then school and then work and home and the same thing for weeks. Hmm it’s started to rain.  “Need a lift?” Jack asks When did he get a car? “No it’s fine.” I say back to him still walking trying to ignore him  “Paris it’s been weeks. Prom is coming up and I want you to go with me. I want things to go back to being normal with us. I want us to work on things, but I can’t do things on my own. Please just let me explain and if after I explain things you still don’t forgive me than I promise I will never talk to you again.” he says to me  “You promise?” I ask He doesn’t look to happy  “I promise.” he says back to me  “Fine.” I say to him and jump into his car.  Jack’s POV “This is our chance so don’t mess it up.” I say to my wolf “I would never. You need to be a big boy and just tell her.” he says to me  “What do you think I am doing now?” I say back to him  “Hurry up and talk to her so you don’t make things awkward.” he says back to me “Oh right!” I say back to him  “There are a lot of things in this world that may not be as normal as you know it Paris. And right now I want to explain why everything is happening right now. I also want you to know how much I like and love you. We’ve been through a lot and I know my actions don’t speak what I mean, but truly you will understand when I show you.” I say to her “Show me?” she asks  “Yes you have to see it to believe it.” I say to her.  I hope she understands. I love her with all my heart and I hope that she can handle this. I take her to a far part of the woods and we walk by a waterfall.  “This is where I come to think about things when I don’t understand them.” I say to her  “It’s pretty far. Do you drive out here all the time?” she asks  “Yes, well no I run.” I say back to her  “Wow you run this much? I must really not know you that well.” she says back to me turning away  “Paris it’s not your fault it’s mine. I knew this day would come. I just wish it was on my terms. You took me in for me not for my title or for my family or anything like that. I appreciated that more than everyone ever thought.” I say to her “What are you trying to say?” she asks  “Please sit down and promise no matter what you won’t leave me okay?” I ask her “Are you okay? You’re acting kind of weird Jack.” she asks me “Just sit down okay?” I ask her and she sits on a rock Here goes! I shift into my wolf and we slowly crouch down and then look at Paris. She thinks for a bit and then doesn’t move. Maybe she is in shock? We walk slowly to her and she still doesn’t back away.  “You’re an Alpha aren’t you?” she asks
