*Jasmine’s POV*
The past few days have been busy. I spend most days in the hospital wing with my mum. Rocky has been getting ready to challenge Vincent. He wants the pack back so mum can go home.
Planning for my luna and the welcome-to-pack party has been hectic. So many dresses to try on and final touches to the preparations to be done.
Steph has been helping, and I have noticed that Steph and Kade have gotten close; Kade is always by Steph’s side, making me think that they are mates with how protective Kade has been.
I could be wrong; I walk through the territory grounds and watch children playing. I see Mandy around, but she won't look at me, and her friends have abandoned her since our confrontation.
With everything going on, I could take to let my hair down to relax and ease the stress of everything going on. So I go and Find Sean. Maybe we could go back to the bar we met at and play a game of pool or get away from everything for a while.
I go to the pack house and straight to the office where Sean and his father have been.
I knock on the door, but the door opens, and Sean pulls me into his arms and kisses me. My arms snake around his neck, and then, when we part, he rests his forehead on mine. “I missed you, Jas,” I smile because I missed him too, never have I missed another person so much in my life, but as soon as Sean and I part ways, I miss him. I could stay in his arms forever.
Sean pulls me into the room and sits us both on the couch. “What can we do for you, sweetheart?”
I rest my head on Sean’s shoulder. “I need to get out and let my hair down, babe; being cooped up here has made my wolf restless, and I thought maybe we could go to the bar and play some pool. And have some fun before our big night.”
Sean nuzzles his nose into my neck and takes in my scent. “What if your old pack see us? We agreed to keep you hidden until the night of the ceremony.”
I sigh and know it would be a considerable risk, but I need to do something. Or I might go crazy.
I look over at Sean’s father for help, but it seems he agrees with Sean.
“What if we go to another bar that's not near my old pack lands?”
Sean looks at me, then at his father.
“There is a bar we share with a neighbouring pack that we could go to, but it is still a risk Jas.”
I stand up and begin to pace the room, thinking about the risks, and I know Sean is right.
“Is there anywhere than where I can play pool, maybe have a drink, and spend time with you?”
I bite my bottom lip, hoping there is a place in the territory where we can go where there are no other wolves from other packs.
When Sean looks at his Father. “Can we use your cabin, dad? We can have a night with Kade, Rocky, and Steph!”
“Cabin where?”
“In the woods, Jas, it's my dad's little getaway where he goes to clear his head and let his hair down.”
I look over at Sean’s father and hope he allows us to use the cabin; I need to let off steam.
“You can use the Cabin whenever you like, but I want my best warriors with you; we have had attacks happen on the territory since we captured Vincent.”
My heart drops at that maybe I should stay close to the lack house. Being out and having fun isn't something a future luna should be doing.
I look over at Sean and drop my head.
“How about we don't go? I want to help with the rouge attacks. It would be reckless to go out and have fun when there is danger around.”
Sean stands up and kisses me. “I promise when we have eliminated the threat, we can go and have some fun.
Instant in his arms and my wolf begins to calm down. Maybe she was restless because we had been apart. I look up at Sean and smile “that sounds like a good idea. Now fill me in on where the wolves have been found and what can I do to help.”
We spend hours in the office going over where the wolves have been coming in and ensuring we have men waiting without compromising the rest of the territory. I now understand why Rocky wants to challenge Vincent and take his rightful place in the pack. It would lessen the danger for me and keep mum protected.
And that gives me the idea that we will make our move on the old pack sooner rather than later.
*Sean’s POV*
It is well past midnight when we leave the office, and Jasmine has fallen asleep on the couch.
I think about our plan and begin feeling sinking in my stomach. I know we won't be safe until Rocky has taken his place as an alpha, but I know when it happens, we are going to have another fight on our hands when Vincent’s supporters come for us.
I carry Jasmine back to our bedroom. And lay her in bed, and I get in behind her holding her close to me, wishing that I could fix everything that's going on and help her see not everything is about war and violence.
That's when I decide it is time for the king and queen of the Lycians to come in and make things right. They hold more power than we do, and when they make a ruling, then everything will fall into place.
