*Jasmine’s POV*
I don't remember how I got to bed last night but waking up in Sean’s arms is something I don't think I will ever get used to.
I have planned to spend the day with my mum while Sean and his father go over strategies to get Rocky into my old pack lands. I am over the drama, so spending the day with my mother is what I need.
I go to her room and knock on the door.
Then open the door to see my mum sitting on the bed. It is nice to see the colour back on her face, and she doesn't look so dehydrated.
“Are you ready?” I ask as I sot next to her, taking in her beauty. Her eyes were the same as mine; it's like I was made in the exact image of her. I see the sadness in her eyes; I know mum is missing my dad, as seeing Rocky and I has brought back memories of dad.
But now we can have a second chance. And today, my mum is showing me what I need to do to be a great luna and what is expected of me during the luna ceremony.
My mum places her hand in mine and smiles.
“It is good to see how far you have come, Jasmine; I always worried that Vincent would break your spirit, but you have been strong and kind to everyone. And if you continue to be kind to others and be a true leader in your decisions, you will make a fine Luna.”
I lean into my mother, taking in her scent of water lilies and spring flowers. Then smile.
“I always tried to remember what you would do, mum and knew you would want me to stay strong. I remembered how you used to sit with the omega and help them with chores and play with the children. I always wanted to be like you when I was growing up and wanted to make. You proud.”
Mum leans over and kisses the top of my head, then pats my leg.
“Well, now, we have a busy day ahead of us. To get you ready for your ceremony, my wolf wants to meet yours.”
We stand up and walk kit the door. Then I remember my mum's pendant.
“Wait here, mum. I have something of yours I want you to have back.”
I ran back to my room and got to the cupboard, got the small box and took it. It came back to my mum.
I place the box in her hand, and my mum looks up at me, puzzled.
“What is this?”
I give her a sheepish smile.
“Before I was moved to the omega house, I wanted a piece of you so I could remember you, so I took it from your dresser.”
My mother opens the box and gets the pendant out, and smiles as she places it around her neck.
Light comes from it and shines brightly before it goes away.
“Thank you, Jasmine, this was my mother's pendant, and it was handed down to me on the day your father and I had our alpha and luna ceremony, and on the day you and Sean have your tradition, I will hand it to you. It holds excellent power and will show others that you are from prestigious blood; we come from the royal line of Lycians and come here to help bring wolf and Lycian together. Only some wolves saw us as a threat and learned that female Lycians gave the male wolves great power.”
She hugs me, and I feel a pang of sadness. My father was killed so that Vincent could take my mother's power; I remember how he lost his mind when he realised the pendant was missing from my mum's belongings. Could he have known about the power of the charm?
We go down the stairs, where there is a flurry of people getting things for the ceremony, and I look over at my mother.
“Do you know what all the fuss is about?”
She looks over at me and grins.
“Well, since I am here and Rocky is preparing to take back our pack, I wanted to push your luna and alpha ceremony forward. We have sent out invitations to the neighbouring groups, which will be held tonight.”
I look at her in shock as she guides me to a study where Sean’s mother is waiting; I notice sean’s mother's pendant around her neck as she comes over and greets me with a hug.
“Did you manage to get the dress I requested?”
My mother asks.
Sena’s mother grins and then walks over to a dress bag hanging on a door.
“I did. Now let's see if it fits Jasmine; the make-up artist and hair stylist will be here shortly to prepare her for tonight. We have much to go over.”
I watch as both mothers begin fussing over the beautiful ruby-coloured dress. It looks like a regal dress woman would wear in the days of the Vikings.
My eyes widen at my mum moving freely around the room with so much grace.
Then both women look at me
“Now, dear, I need you to get undressed, and we will help you put the gown on.” I slowly begin to take off my clothes, but I am unsure what I am supposed to do.
When I am down to my underwear, my mother gives me the dress to get into.
I put the dress on, and looking down at myself, the skirt accentuates all my curves and enhances my breast area.
My mother gets down on her knees and helps me put my shots on while Sean’s mother begins to tie up the back of the dress, making sure it is tied up perfectly, holding everything in place.
When I am securely in the dress, I am taken to a mirror, where I am left in shock. I look like a princess in the dress is stunning, and I begin to get butterflies. Am I ready to become a Luna of a pack? I nearly know, and will I make my mother and Sean’s mother proud with the decisions I make? Talk about being thrown into the deep end.
*Sean’s POV*
I spent the morning with my father going over the final plans for the takeover of the pack and luring Hamish here for the luna and Alpha ceremony tonight.
I hope all of this hasn't taken Jas too much by surprise. I know our Mothers will take good care of her, and I am excited to have Jasmine by my side finally and bring my father's place as Alpha.
I leave my father's office and meet Kade in the room where he helps me get ready. I know that tonight could go wrong, but I am hoping Hamish is taken to the dungeons before the ceremony begins; then, the kind and Queen of the Lycians can strip them of their powers and return the Pack to Rocky, and he can start to rebuild it to its former glory.
