*Jasmine’s POV*
After hours of having my hair and make-up done, I am finally allowed to look in the mirror, and I don't recognise the woman staring back at me. I look stunning!
I go and hug my mother and wipe a tear from her eye.
“Don't cry; you will make me cry.”
My mother smiles
“They are happy tears, Jas; you helped set me free. I get to see my baby girl become Luna with her destined mate;.”
We embraced again, and suddenly, the emptiness I felt went away. Having my mother by my side made me whole.
We look outside and see the stage where the ceremony will take place, and my nerves almost get the better of me.
Am.inready to be Luna? Will I be strong enough to stand beside Sean? The thought of Sean makes my heart begin to race. I have never felt so strongly about a man or been so intoxicated by his presents.
I see the guests beginning to arrive, and then Sean's mother clears her throat; I look over at her and am shocked when I see sean standing beside her.
His eyes connect with mine, and I walk into his arms.
“You look Stunning, Jas; we will go out after my father does his speech, and then we will go to the podium together.”
He dips his head down and captures my lips in a kiss. The kiss is short but leaves me wanting so much more.
Our mothers leave the room, leaving us alone, and we stand by the window and wait. I hook around for Hamish in the crowd, but I don't see him. Then I notice two new faces on the podium and look up at sean, who has a smirk.
“Who are they?”
Sean kisses the tip of my nose.
“They are the king and queen of the Lycians and have Vincent and Hamish in custody and have officially given your old pack to Rocky and reinstated your mother as caretaker luna until Rocky finds his mate. She will help him run things for a while.”
I look around and notice a lot of the omega's from my old pack gathered with the higher ranking wolves of the group, but I don't see the beta or gamma of the box. Maybe they are with Hamish. I smile when I see that Sean’s family has arranged for the omega to have new clothes to wear to the ceremony. Then I see Steph standing with Reya, the only friend Steph had in the pack apart from me.
Sean kisses my temple. “I wanted them to see you are safe and that Rocky isn't to be feared and that he will be a kind Alpha like his sister was to them for many years.”
I wrap my arms around Sean’s waist and rest my head on his chest as we watch my brother and mother get back what was taken from them the night of the Rouge attack, the night that changed my life forever.
Once all the speeches are over, Sean and I are called out. I look up at Sean, who takes my hand and raises it to his lips.
“Are you ready?” I smile
“I am ready, Sean; with you by my side, I can do anything.”
We walk out to the podium, and we say our vows to each other and the pack.
Then we combine our blood into a small chalice and drink it. The power of the pack is handed to Sean, and I almost fall to my knees; I can hear all the thoughts of my new pack members, and I quickly close my mind to them. I had forgotten what it was like to hear other people's voices in my mind. It is something I will never get used to.
When the formality is over, it is time for us to shift and begin the run with our pack members and howel as one to represent the changing of the guard and bringing in the new era of the new Alpha and luna.
I watch Sean shift first, and then I follow him. I didn't bother taking off my dress. It felt good to her to get torn during the change. Sean and I take off, Running through the forest to the cliff, looking out to the ocean and howel. When we return to the pack house, a table filled with food and drinks. I shift and go inside to get a new set of clothes when my mother pulls me to the side.
She hands me a beautiful white strapless dress.
“I wore this on my first night as luna. I would love for you to wear it too.”
I kiss her cheek and then quickly put it on “thank you, mum. Are you sure you are going to be okay?”
She nods and looks outside at a handsome man, then back to me.
“I will be fine jas. I think the goddess has blessed me with my second chance, mate. We bumped into each other during the run, and it felt electric.”
I give her a knowing look and then look back at the man “so what's his name, and are you going to introduce us?”
My mum goes crimson, then looks over at her man, “his name is Jericho, and he is from the Lycian kingdom,” my jaw drops open are all Lycian men this handsome.
I look over at Sean when we leave the house, and he comes to me. And takes me. into his arms
“There you are, Jas. I thought you got lost.”
I give him a quick kiss “no, but my mum found her second chance, mate, and she was about to take me to meet him.”
Sean looks over to where my mother has gone and then back at me.
“That is Jericho, one of the greatest warriors of all time,”
I look at sean, then back at Jericho. “How do you know that?”
Sean kisses me on the cheek “we learned about him in school.”
I furrow my brow, wondering if I missed anything during school, then remembered I wasn't allowed to go to school for alphas.
We walk over to my mum, and we spend the evening celebrating and getting to know my mother's new mate Jericho, the greatest Lycian worrier who ever lived.
When most of the neighbouring packs left and went home, Sean and I left the party to spend some time together over the past few days; we have mostly been apart.
Before the bedroom door even closes, we are ripping at each other clothes wanting more, needing skin-to-skin touch.
